Don't Get Me Drunk
03:48
|
|||
Don’t Get me Drunk
Don’t get me drunk
Or I might tell the truth
I might sing a song
And bare my heart to you
Don’t get me drunk
That’s when things go wrong
Words just - wanna leave - my mouth
All about you
Like when that time
I said I dreamt of you
You slipped into my mind
And it was mighty fine
I just cant lie
When I’m sauced and high
So if you wanna know the truth
just get me drunk
Don’t get me drunk
Or I might tell the truth
I might sing a song
And bare my heart to you
Don’t get me drunk
That’s when things go wrong
Words just - wanna leave - my mouth
All about you
I’ll sit real close
No tellin what come next
Cuz nuttin wont stop this little
Ol beating heart in my chest
I’ll bat my eyes
But I wont realize
That maybe She’s had too much to drink
And she’ll blame that wine
Don’t get her drunk
Or she might tell the truth
She might sing a song
And bare her heart to you
Don’t get her drunk
That’s when things go wrong
Words just - wanna leave - my mouth
All about you
Don’t get her drunk
Or she might tell the truth
She might sing a song
And bare her heart to you
Don’t get her drunk
That’s when things go wrong
Words just - wanna leave - my mouth
All about you
Words just - wanna leave - my mouth
All about you

Spin the Bottle
03:30
|
|||
Spin the Bottle
From the moment that you told me it was over
My fate has been to be a rolling stone
I lay my head in a different bed for every mile I roam
And I wonder now which path will take me home.
I guess I turned to drink when I was lonely
And I needed wine to keep you from my mind
But when I wake at noon in a hotel room and I don’t know where I am
I got to find that highway sign
Spin the bottle tell me which road I should take
I just don’t know what else I can do
Spin the bottle spin it so hard it could break
I’m just trying to find my way back to you.
Those first few months I worked a job in Reno
And I even saw this girl from time to time
But late one night when the moon was bright and I heard that whistle blow
I knew I’d have to move it down the line.
They say that Jesus loves the lonesome sinner
But the devil’s always offerin' you a ride
I climbed on in and I rode with him for every weary mile
Now I only want to be by your side
Spin the bottle tell me which road I should take
I just don’t know what else I can do
Spin the bottle spin it so hard it could break
Cause my heart is sad and cold
And this highway’s growing old
I’m just trying to find my way back to you.

My Favorite Waitress
03:19
|
|||
Was minding my business
Working away
With wood and nails
Seems like just the other day
Stopped me in my tracks
& my heart skipped a beat
It was then & there
My heart fell fast
I fell under your spell
With my favorite waitress
So easily and gracefully
Your beauty called to me
Your kind spirit
Your smile
Could it be me
My favorite waitress
Time came and time went
We built a life
Family and friends
Music and strife
Now here we are
Eye to eye
From time past by
For you . . .By my side
I fell under your spell
With my favorite waitress
So easily and gracefully
Your beauty called to me
Your kind spirit
Your smile
Could it be me
My favorite waitress
Holding hands Holding you
Laughing lasts Goodnight kisses
Holding hands Music soars
Looking at you Never gets old
I fell under your spell
With my favorite waitress
So easily and gracefully
Your beauty called to me
Your kind spirit
Your smile
Could it be me
My favorite waitress
My favorite waitress

Sometimes it feels, like I
don’t know what I’m doing
I shake my head and question why
Am I good enough, for
This road I’m travlin’
Will you catch me when I fly
When I’m down on my knees
questioning why
So here I am now
I stand before you
Face to face, nowhere to hide
Will you turn away
This path I’m walkin
Or will you watch me when I fly
Cause when I’m down on my knees
I would give you, my hand if you need it
And all the sun & the days…
And I would sing to you if you want it
And we could float away
I would give you, my hand if you need it
And all the sun & the days…
And I would sing to you if you want it
And we could float away
Sometimes it feels, like I
don’t know what I’m doing
I shake my head and question why
Cause when I’m down on my knees
When I’m down on my knees
When I’m down on my knees
Questioning why

The Courage
03:35
|
|||
Morning
brings a new day
The past
Never really fades away
Sunrise
Blinds my eyes
To the fact that i’m
Running out of time
And every day
Is new
But every night
When the daylight is through
I lie alone and try to own
My darkness
The passing year
And the growing fears
Of time
Endless time
And I wonder if I have
The courage
Sometimes when I’m feeling good
The sun is shining like it should
I think I have the energy
To spare
But then the clouds roll overhead
My better angels fear to tread
And the years are just too much
To bear
The children
Are gettin’ old
This big old heart of mind
Is growing cold
And every day
Is new
But every night
When the daylight is through
I lie alone and try to own
My darkness
The passing year
And the growing fears
Of time
Endless time
And I wonder if I have
The courage

Teardrops & Oatmeal
04:05
|

Teardrops and Oatmeal
I’m talkin’ to my bowl
Searching for wisdom
But it won't come
Silence will fade
Come and then stay
Rise and drift
Taste of my tears
Filled with fear
Fills the air
My face is flushed
Warms and heats
Surrounds me
These teardrops and my oatmeal
Now gone and mixed in me
Shown and be done
Since you came along
Taste of my fear
Filled with tears
Fills the air
My face is flushed
Warms and heats
Surrounds me
Lay me down
Envelop me
Consume me
Bring me
Some relief
And free me
I shift my gaze
And put my bowl away
Tears itch my face
That I’ll wipe away
Teardrops and Oatmeal
I’m talkin to my bowl
Searching for wisdom
But it wont come
Taste of my tears
Filled with fear
Fills the air
My face is flushed
Warms and heats
Surrounds me
Lay me down
Envelop me
Consume me
Bring me
Some relief
And Free me

Two Pages
04:28
|
|||
When I think of you
And what comes to mind
The wild wind fills
Surging inside
When I see you
walking my way
I should be ok
But I drift away
2 pages, is all it should take
To get it down
2 pages to tell you how
You fill my soul,
2 pages, is all it should take
To get it down
2 pages to tell you how
wrap me around that sweet sweet sound
I’m not one to search for words
But when it comes to you they blur
I feel the warm surge inside
And it all takes over
2 pages, is all it should take
To get it down
2 pages to tell you how
You fill my soul,
2 pages, is all it should take
To get it down
2 pages to tell you how
wrap me around that sweet sweet sound
Beg for mercy
But it feels so good
Release this torment
Your essence stood
Beg for mercy
But it feels so good
Waiting for me in the early morning hours
My blossoming flower
When I think of you
And what comes to mind
The wild wind fills
Surging inside
2 pages, is all it should take
To get it down
2 pages to tell you how
You fill my soul,
2 pages, is all it should take
To get it down
2 pages to tell you how
wrap me around that sweet sweet sound

The Older I Get
03:04
|
|||
Rain on me Feel the storm
Don’t play safe Don’t stay calm
Pour on me Bring the storm
I’ll keep you safe And bring the calm
The older I get
The less I know
I’ve seen hard times
And good ones go
Birds they came
and fireflies glow
as life goes on
the less I know
We never learn Or do we
Taking for granted, All possible in me
Or take that chance Living like its one
Will we dance Under the soft sun
Your cup in my hand, I
sip so far away, I
choose to glance
Our eyes drift in and stay
I call to the gods, And
all the angels aglow
The older I get
The less I know
Rain on me Feel the storm
Don’t play safe Don’t stay calm
Pour on me Bring the storm
I’ll keep you safe And bring the calm
The older I get
The less I know
I’ve seen hard times
And good ones go
Birds they came
and fireflies glow
as life goes on
the less I know

Taking for granted, All possible in me

Sing Neighbor Sing
02:50
|
|||
Sing Neighbors Sing
Let it Soar above the Mountain Tops
Fly justice fly
Right down through our souls
Well, we got to get a move on
change what we see
There’s a whole lot of
Hateful things
Happening to you and me
Round-up friends & neighbors
Help each other out
Cause those in the one percent
will never
Bail us out
Sing Neighbors Sing
Let it Soar above the Mountain Tops
Fly justice fly
Right down through our souls
Well, look at those heroes
Marching In the streets
Singing the chants
Of yesteryears
That continue to resonate
Those in power please
Don’t lie to us anymore
We all see the greed
And what you
all stand for..
Sing Neighbors Sing
Let it Soar above the Mountain Tops
Fly justice fly
Right down through our souls
Sing Neighbors Sing
Let it Soar above the Mountain Tops
Fly justice fly
Right down through our souls
Right down through our souls

Sad songs & my sticky skin
Oh but the ties that lay within
In and out of my bed sheets
Far from who you want and who you keep
Tampered beauty and flavored sweat
Oh you kept it sweet and smooth
Rhythm and rhyme swirls in my mind
Cleverly howl at the northern moon
Time and tides roll by
Like the dandelions
Making wishes fly
By sugary jest
Accompany you, accompaniment
Swindle and woven in my heart you are chosen
Sway is the mist of sacred doom
Linger longer as you always do
Time and tides roll by
Like the dandelions
Making wishes fly
By sugary jest
Morning came too soon
You swirl and swivel
Unwind and chisel
My minds a puzzle
Morning came too soon
You swirl and swivel
Unwind and chisel
Twist my heart like you do
It’s 4:42 and all is quiet
With all these words, swirling in my silence
Calling has faded, wishing flowers gone
Ripped from my bosom singing sad sad songs
Morning came too soon
You swirl and swivel
Unwind and chisel
My minds a puzzle
Morning came too soon
You swirl and swivel
Unwind and chisel
Twist my heart like you do
Time and tides roll by
Like the dandelions
Making wishes fly
By sugary jest
Canary birds sing
Persuasive and content
Thirst for knowledge
You came and went
You came and went

Ghost of Me
04:52
|
|||
Lanterns sway
Shadows may play
Go soft in the night
My candlelight
Don’t be afraid
What come, what may
Whispers in flight
Cut through the night
Echoes from the past
Voices collapse
Inside
Of me
Hold me dear
Can’t you hear
The ghosts
Of me
Look up above
The stars sing
They sing to you
And they sing to me
Don’t you fret
It ain’t over yet
Go soft in the night
My candlelight
Echoes from the past
Voices collapse
Inside
Of me
Hold me dear
Can’t you hear
The ghosts
Of me
Lanterns sway
Shadows may play
Go soft in the night
My candlelight
Don’t be afraid
What come, what may
Whispers in flight
Cut through the night
Echoes from the past
Voices collapse
Inside

Hold me dear
Can’t you hear

Burn Away
03:52
|
|||
River flowing through my mind
Like the slow passage of time
Like a snowbank melting in the heat of day
Sinking down until it’s melted . . . . away
Water falling from the sky
Reminds of the time when you and I were like
A couple of foals just feeling our oats
But now I hope that meadow don’t
Dry up and blow . . . away
Fire burning all across the hill
Embers raining down but baby still
I seek the coolness in your valley
Smoke pushes me down to the ground
And the ashes swirl around
But the heat will never make me …..Burn away
People all around
this world
Keep on living like they never
Heard of
Fire burning all across the hill
Embers raining down but baby still
I seek the coolness in your valley
Smoke pushes me down to the ground
And the ashes swirl around
But the heat will never make me …..Burn away
Burn away
Burn away
Burn away

Briar Rose
04:27
|
|||
Juniper moon
Reel me in
Can I catch a ride
As you pass by
He’s comin’ soon
Just down the road
Will you wash your light over
My wounded soul
Pull me in
Lean in slow
As you glide by my
Briar rose
Keep me still
Won’t you save my soul
And all that’s left of my
Briar rose
It’s almost like
You taunt my mind
Softly laughing
At my demise
Cause there you are
Again in my sight
Bending my mind
And pulling me in
Pull me in
Lean in slow
As you glide by my
Briar rose
Keep me still
Won’t you save my soul
And all that’s left of my
Briar rose
Cause I’d rather sit on a moon
Then to be seen by you
Your fingers and taboo
Deep in your eyes, I’ll be lost to you, lost to you
Juniper moon
Reel me in
Can I catch a ride
As you pass by
Keep me calm
Lure me close
No consequence
Over our souls
Pull me in
Lean in slow
As you glide by my
Briar rose
Keep me still
Won’t you save my soul
And all that’s left of my
Briar rose
Briar rose

Travelin’ this Road
03:40
|
|||
Oh help me lord Take me away
Take me back To sea level today
Done with the dust In my nose
Always waiting For the sun to go
Just travelin this road of 395
Hoping go Make it out Alive
Worn out & beaten down
Drivin’ around Cali town
Up and down 395
& get eaten alive
Standing at the door of Devils post pile
They expect me to climb miles and miles
Little do they know I’ve lost my mind
Travelin’ this road of 395
Oh help me lord Take me away
Take me back To sea level today
Done with the dust In my nose
Always waiting For the sun to go
Just travelin this road of 395
Hoping go Make it out Alive
Now they know
My mind has flown
All that is left
Is all long gone
Where the creek flows
And the crow on the tree
Just take me back
To the breeze by the sea
Oh help me lord Take me away
Take me back To sea level today
Done with the dust In my nose
Always waiting For the sun to go
Just travelin’ this road of 395
Hoping to Make it out alive
Worn out & beaten down
Drivin’ around Cali town
Up and down 395
& get eaten alive
Standing at the door of Devils post pile
They expect me to climb miles and miles
Little do they know I’ve lost my mind
Travelin this road of 395
Oh help me lord Take me away
Take me back To sea level today
Done with the dust In my nose
Always waiting For the sun to go
Just travelin’ this road of 395
Hoping go Make it out Alive
